Ogochukwu Obiagbaoso

The biology major who rewrote her career

Ogochukwu Obiagbaoso never expected a biology degree to lead her into project management, but her career has been anything but predictable.

She set out to be a teacher, but during a job interview, the HR team saw something she hadn’t yet recognized in herself. Impressed by her growing social media presence, they steered her toward a public relations internship instead. Just like that, she found herself in a brand-new industry, full of challenges and opportunities.

Determined to succeed, Ogochukwu turned to Udemy. She dove into courses in public relations, brand marketing, and digital marketing‌ — ‌learning and building skills that would shape her career. Two years later, she pivoted again, stepping into a customer service role. Once more, Udemy was right there with her, helping her grow skills in customer experience, data analysis, and retention strategies.

But she wasn’t done finding the ideal career path. After four years in customer service, a mentor’s advice and a well-timed project management opportunity changed everything. Encouraged by colleagues, Ogochukwu set her sights on earning the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. She studied daily on Udemy, passed the exam, and officially made the leap into a project management career.

Now, as a Project Administrative Officer, she’s already chasing her next big goal: HR project management. Currently pursuing an MBA with a specialization in HR, she’s planning her next certifications‌ — ‌the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) certification or the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM‌) certification — ‌to solidify her expertise.

“It’s been me and Udemy all along,” Ogochukwu says. “And I’m just getting started.”
