Just start: How Bryndis found confidence through learning

When Bryndis first discovered Udemy, she wasn’t looking for a course – she was looking for a way forward. An artist at heart, Bryndis paints and dreams of teaching others to do the same. But turning that passion into a business required something new: technical skills, digital tools, and the confidence to step into a rapidly changing world.

Keeping up with a changing world

As a volunteer working with teenagers through the Red Cross, Bryndis sees firsthand how quickly things are evolving. “When I listen to them, I understand that the world is changing,” she says. “I wanted to learn more – to keep up.” She started searching for ways to build her knowledge in innovation and technology. That’s when she came across Udemy. “I saw an ad that said everyone can learn. So I clicked.”

Starting from scratch – and sticking with it

Like many learners, Bryndis began at the very beginning. She explored courses in web development, design tools like Canva, and even AI. “I’m still learning, but I’m getting there,” she says. “I can choose what I want to learn each week – data one week, development the next. It’s so easy to pick and choose.” That flexibility is what led her to become a Udemy subscriber. “The courses are so well described. Everything feels organized – it’s easy to learn.” In just two months, she’s already building momentum – creating Instagram content, experimenting with digital tools, and laying the groundwork for her future website.

Overcoming fear of AI

One of Bryndis’s biggest breakthroughs came from something she once avoided: AI. “I was against it before I started Udemy,” she admits. “I thought I wasn’t smart enough to learn it.” But after taking a course on prompt writing, everything changed. “Now I can search properly and get the answers I need. It’s not a big, scary monster. You can work with it.” Learning at her own pace made all the difference. “When I saw how easy it was – and that I could learn in my own time – I realized, ‘I can do this.”

Building toward something bigger

Today, Bryndis is working toward launching her own art business – combining creativity with newly developed digital skills. She’s already secured her domain and is continuing to build toward her website, one step at a time. “I have many projects going on,” she says with a smile. “But I’m starting.”

Advice to others: Just start

For anyone hesitating to begin their learning journey, Bryndis keeps it simple: “Just start.” Because for her, that first step changed everything – from uncertainty to confidence, from curiosity to capability. “I can say I know about AI now,” she says. “Why not?”
