Udemy’s flexible online learning experience coupled with Bloter’s technology expertise to jumpstart e-learning market for adult professionals
Udemy, a global marketplace for learning and teaching online, and Bloter, a leading tech-oriented media outlet in Korea, today announced a strategic partnership to offer online courses created by Bloter on Udemy, jumpstarting the e-learning market for adult professionals. Bloter’s online courses will be available through Udemy and promoted across both websites, attracting more adult professionals in Korea to learn online and gain valuable new skills for the changing demands of today’s workplace.
Bloter plans to work with expert instructors, including Sun-young Kim (Googe Analytics), Jeong-hyun Oh (Kakao Marketing), Sang-jun Im (WordPress), and Jong-eun Lee (Git)over the next six months to significantly expand the number of available Korean courses in the most sought-after skills. Course categories include mobile and web development, data science, and social media marketing, among others. All Udemy courses are available on-demand and once purchased, students have lifetime access to the course content so students can learn at their own pace and succeed on their own terms. Courses may be taken on a computer, tablet, or smartphone and content can be downloaded and viewed without an internet connection.
“Since launching Bloter Academy in 2011, we have seen incredible demand for online courses where students can learn anywhere with their smartphone and PC. I am happy to announce this partnership to provide more online learning opportunities to students. We will offer great Korean courses on Udemy, “ said Bloter & Media CEO Sangbum Kim. “Korea has the highest network speed in the world and a strong IT infrastructure, yet we have less online learning content than other countries. Bloter and Udemy will do our best to make high quality of courses,” he said.
“With its widespread smartphone and technology adoption, Korea is well poised for realizing the full potential of online learning. We are proud to be partnering with Bloter to leverage their expertise and relationships in the technology sector to offer courses on the most in-demand topics for Korean professionals,” said Richard Qiu, VP of Business Development at Udemy. “Learning is no longer something confined to the classroom. Online learning helps working adults fills the gaps created by shifting demands in today’s workplace with actionable knowledge that can be applied as soon as it’s gained,” he added.
The new Bloter courses will join an extensive library of courses in personal and professional development taught by expert instructors already available in the Udemy marketplace. Udemy empowers experts in their field to create their own courses on Udemy to share their skills and earn income. This results in the most up-to-date and in demand skills on offer to stay sharp in today’s rapidly changing economy.
