About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our Udemy People Operations team in a key Manager, People Compliance role.  In this function you will drive the further development of our People Compliance related initiatives in areas of Policies, compliance and regulatory programs, such as Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and advancing the foundation for us to scale a growing business.  This role also manages and develops our global Immigration programs.

We are seeking an experienced action-oriented individual who will work across our global People Team and in partnership with other organizational stakeholders such as, Legal, Finance, IT, etc…  You will leverage your deep experience and understanding of regulatory and compliance matters to provide strategic thought partnership and own the execution of these significant programs and initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing workforce programs, within the People function, to ensure compliance with government agencies, such as Federal & State Affirmative Action Plan, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), I9 compliance, and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), etc.
  • Ensure our census reporting, and government contract reporting are maintained in accordance with government laws and regulations and internal company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from our Belonging, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (BEDI), Compensation, People Analytics and other relevant parties on our ESG, Pay Equity and Fair Place to Work initiatives
  • Lead and develop our global immigration organization, policies and procedures
  • Support business continuity through cross functional policy reviews and revisions to support various compliance related programs
  • Manages all compliance related reporting including, AAP, EEO-1, VETS 4212, etc… in coordination with appropriate external vendor, People Business Partners and management team 
  • Working in Partnership with the Legal team, acts as the liaison to the government agencies and/or third party service providers
  • Establishes compliance standards, anticipates emerging compliance trends and work to improve internal compliance controls
  • Partner with Legal and L&D teams to facilitate and ensure effective compliance related training content and delivery. Recommend updates to compliance training programs and work with the L&D team to incorporate training techniques to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the program
  • Remain abreast of global employee-related legislative and regulatory developments, and ensure changes to rules and regulations are restructured with People systems, policies, articles, and practices in partnership with the Legal department
  • Support our Deal Desk by responding to People related inquires in a timely manner in support of closing sales opportunities

We’re excited about you because you’ll have:

  • Bachelors Degree in HR or a related discipline.  PHR or SPHR is highly desired.  
  • Requires a minimum 6+ years of experience managing People compliance programs ideally with a focus on People audit, policy, International regulations, Immigration, etc.  Public company experience highly desired.
  • Experience managing complex, global People projects and operationalizing People policies and strategy
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build strong relationships and become a trusted partner to relevant stakeholders
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities with an aptitude for synthesizing information from external and internal experts and recommending a best course of action
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work output and decisions
