Designers at Udemy guide products from concept through delivery; making sure that experiences are intuitive, accessible, and delightful. We work side-by-side with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to build world-class learning experiences for a diverse, global community. You’ll be an instrumental part of the design and product teams, influencing our roadmap, design process, and much more.

As a Senior Product Designer on the Learning Engagement Team, your work will focus on helping students achieve their learning goals through practical assessment and demonstration throughout the learning process. You will lead the design of product experiences that motivate students and support lasting learning habits, helping students stay up to date in their topics of interest by facilitating connection and communication with their instructors and fellow students. Creating new and impactful learning experiences is a key component of Udemy’s mission, and a major contributor to our success with companies and individuals around the world. 

An ideal candidate will...

  • The Learning Engagement Team plays a central role in helping students pursue their educational goals through effective, impactful learning experiences - watching lectures, completing practice assignments, and communicating along the way. We create the course creation tools and platform used by thousands of instructors to teach millions of students.
  • Facilitating learning in our product means supporting learning experiences in 14 languages, meeting student accessibility needs, and increasing access to education for students all around the world.
  • We design world-class experiences for Udemy’s students across desktop, iOS, and Android devices for Udemy’s consumer and B2B products.
  • You’ll partner with learning scientists, UX Research, and Data Science collaborators to understand best practices that support learning and build experiments to fill in the gaps.
  • Be part of our growing design team that prioritizes a high degree of autonomy supported by a strong design system, regular collaboration, and constructive critique sessions.

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of practice designing and shipping mobile apps and mobile web projects
  • A portfolio of end-to-end product design work that showcases your involvement from research and discovery to visual design and partnering with engineering throughout implementation. Demonstrated ability to ship products that customers love.
  • Comfort designing and shipping projects for any device, including web and native app design standards. Udemy students learn throughout the day and move seamlessly between multiple screens.
  • Fluency in Figma and/or Sketch. 
  • Portfolio showcasing projects that demonstrate your problem solving process and design solutions.
  • Prior teaching or edtech experience is a plus, but not required.
  • You’re excited to work on a team of world-class design, product, research, and engineering talent to make a product that millions of people around the world use to teach and learn new skills!
