Udemy is on a mission to be a vital part of the future of learning. We are currently looking for a well-rounded, amazing Senior Visual Designer for our rapidly growing Udemy Business sub-brand. Udemy Business is the B2B arm of Udemy, dedicated to helping employees at organizations around the world do whatever comes next. This is an opportunity to join a talented, multi-dimensional and vibrant creative team at a key growth stage. The role requires a pixel-perfect passion for typography, grid systems, high end content design, and all the finer details of a robust brand experience. Your work will focus on building world class materials like ebooks, one sheets, listicles, and more to help position Udemy Business as a thought leader in the learning industry. In addition you will help create physical materials like event booths, flyers, swag, and direct mail as well as traditional digital marketing media. This position requires a balance of creativity, in a fast-paced, iterative culture.

In this role, you’ll be thinking big and small, collaborating with cross functional partners to shape the way we take Udemy Business to market and develop partnerships with top tier companies. From traditional ads to sales decks to event materials to research reports, you know the ins and outs of B2B marketing and have worked with business leaders to develop go-to-market design solutions across a wide range of channels. You’ll be working with a wide range of internal as well as international partners to ensure brand consistency. 

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Ensure all work aligns with design principles and brand standards
  • Have a passion for developing content driven creative like presentations, ebooks, listicles, one sheets, and more.
  • Utilize visual storytelling skills to create concepts that inspire and motivate
  • Concept and implement design ideas quickly, producing comps, initial graphic concepts, and final deliverables for emails, advertising, and promotions
  • Be a master multi-tasker, brainstorming and developing brand assets for multiple projects simultaneously, remaining flexible through revisions while keeping a keen eye on every detail
  • Create consistent and scalable design solutions across all channels: web, mobile, email, social
  • Collaborate with content teams to develop world class materials that position Udemy Business as a thought leader in the learning technology space
  • Collaborate with copywriting and video team to ensure creative content is  powerful, vivid, compelling and works in harmony
  • Be a team player who works to improve the group’s technical and creative performance
  • Work as part of a larger brand team alongside creative directors, producers, campaign managers, and production designers, to ensure that all projects are completed on time
  • Work closely with the brand team leadership to develop and facilitate design critiques and design exercises

We're excited about you because you have:

  • 6+ years of experience at a creative or ad agency, graphic design firm, or in-house creative department
  • The ability to easily understand the implications  of design decisions on a global level
  • The ability to think beyond what we “should do,” combined with a desire to figure out what we can do
  • Knowledge of digital and print design and advertising  (i.e. web and mobile design, email, paid ads, social, product design)
  • The visual skills and desire to inspire customers and deliver a world-class experience
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and tactically to articulate compelling visual language concepts, mood boards and design with high quality renders
  • Experience in concepting, ideation, execution and a robust portfolio that shows your talent in both print and digital spaces
  • Expertise of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
  • Experience working with accessible design principles, user flows, testing, low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Deep understanding of how to apply  design and research methodologies with qualitative and quantitative data to solve key business problems
  • Ability to utilize user research and metrics to inform design decisions
  • Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, understanding of HTML/CSS and web browser capabilities. Proficiency (or a desire to learn) in Sketch, Figma, and/or other prototyping tools.
  • Highly collaborative with willingness to work in group settings while meeting deadlines for multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Experience with illustration, iconography, infographics, video, motion graphics and other dynamic tools is a strong plus
  • A can-do attitude without ego

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in navigating at least one major rebrand
  • Unique creative discovery processes welcome
  • Skill or passion in any creative area beyond brand design, ex: painting, photography, music, garden gnome sculpting, etc
