We are looking for a talented project manager that is driven by building relationships and being a key contributor to setting the strategic direction of major accounts. This is a role that requires coordinating internal and customer resources to initiate, coordinate, and manage numerous projects in concert from initiation through delivery.  You will establish a strong partnership with Sales and Customer Success and bring a project management mindset to help customers achieve their learning strategy, deploy new programs, and measure success.

Responsibilities include overseeing and directly managing a portfolio of customer projects focused on launching Udemy’s solutions quickly and successfully that drives impact throughout our customer's organizations. 

Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Services, you’re a strong customer-first advocate. You love finding innovative solutions to meet customer needs and aligning internal and customer resources to deliver against objectives.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing the design, development, and production of projects to ensure customer satisfaction and deadlines are met
  • Organizing the needs, concerns, and desires of the project into an evolving plan while driving clarity and minimizing complexity
  • Fostering an environment of self-organization within the team such that the team is fully accountable for and committed to what they are delivering, and addressing their own issues whenever possible
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders within Customer Success, Sales, Content, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to create coordinated project plans and align these plans with customer expectations
  • Managing time-bound and/or continuous customer-facing projects including project scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, risks, dependencies
  • Managing customer anxiety, providing the team and stakeholders not only with a high-quality result but a memorable journey throughout the project
  • Communicating clearly and effectively to Udemy and customer management on the plans, status, and critical issues 
  • Escalating urgent issues appropriately and driving them to closure in a timely manner, working closely with customer project stakeholders as needed
  • Establishing and driving adoption of project frameworks, documentation, tools, and best practices
  • Ensuring proper project closure occurs, including holding retrospective/lessons learned sessions, and leveraging learnings to improve project management practices
  • Adhering to project management standards and best practices, while maintaining a reasonable amount of flexibility for the way our customers need Udemy to work
  • Identifying areas for improvement and providing feedback to continuously improve our project management methodology, the tools we use, and how we communicate at Udemy
  • Leading and participating in strategic initiatives, conducting analyses, and providing recommendations
  • Assisting with pre-sales activities, such as advanced demos, supporting RPFs, and assessing where additional resources/processes may be needed to support technical solutions and product features

We’re excited about you because you have:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as a customer-facing project manager or implementation manager for a SaaS company focused on the delivery of customer solutions
  • Demonstrated history in project management and change management, working with large organizations
  • A proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • The ability to develop and maintain a passion for the customer’s vision with our internal team.
  • A disciplined and organized mindset that enables you to multitask across as many as 10-15 projects at a time
  • The ability to keep others on task through influence, and to separate out the critical from the not-so-critical
  • A focus on results and outcomes, not just process. You have experience establishing processes that are appropriate but don’t view the process as a cure-all for delivery issues. 
  • Experience proactively addressing project obstacles and have the willingness to go above and beyond to chase down loose ends that lead to successful product delivery
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience at the large enterprise level, where organizational complexity can introduce risk
  • The ability to facilitate team and/or customers  discussions, with co-located and virtual team members
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Proven ability to ally with others and solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full lifecycle
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
